Starbucks CFO to present ‘Unconventional Business: How Starbucks Succeeds by Taking the Road Less Traveled’ at Jones School Oct. 3

Starbucks Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer Troy Alstead will present “Unconventional Business: How Starbucks Succeeds by Taking the Road Less Traveled” Oct. 3 as part of the Jones Graduate School of Business’ Dean’s Lecture Series.

The event will take place at 6 p.m. in McNair Hall’s Shell Auditorium. A reception will be held after the talk.

Alstead oversees Starbucks’ global finance, technology and supply chain operations. He joined Starbucks in January 1992 when it was a privately held company with just more than 100 stores. He has held both domestic and international roles in finance and general management for Starbucks. He has led the company’s corporate finance, accounting, tax and treasury functions, and he has overseen global financial management, decision support, planning and business development for Starbucks operating units worldwide.

As one of the original members of the Starbucks International team, Alstead contributed to the early development of the company’s international business. Beyond his finance roles, he led international operations and development as senior vice president and senior lead for Starbucks Coffee International. He also served as interim president of Starbucks’ regional business unit for Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as chief operating officer of Starbucks Greater China.
