Former Ambassador Huntsman to speak at Baker Institute Student Forum Jan. 31

Jon Huntsman, former U.S. ambassador to China and former governor of Utah, will discuss “America in 2013 and Beyond: Challenges and Opportunities” Jan. 31 at the Baker Institute Student Forum. Most recently, Huntsman ran as a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination until leaving the race in January 2012.

The event is open to the Rice community and will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Baker Hall’s Kelly International Conference Facility. RSVPs are requested at bisf@rice.edu.

Huntsman began his career in public service as a staff assistant to former President Ronald Reagan. He served four U.S. presidents in roles around the world, including as ambassador to Singapore, deputy assistant secretary of commerce for Asia, U.S. trade ambassador and, most recently, ambassador to China.
