Private equity investor Dan Hosler to headline Jones School’s Undergraduate Lecture Series

Private equity investor and Rice alumnus Dan Hosler ’01 will headline the Jones Graduate School of Business’ 2014 Rice Undergraduate Lecture Series at 5 p.m. March 11 in McNair Hall, Room 217. The title of Hosler’s talk is “A Random Walk: From DJ to Biochemist to Private Equity Investor.”

Hosler, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry at Rice, is a principal at Chicago-based Sterling Partners, where he focuses on business services, health care services and health care information technology. His background spans launching and operating companies and developing innovative technology solutions to solve complex business problems.

Prior to joining Sterling Partners, he was vice president of product marketing at The Activ Group, where he oversaw the company’s retail sales and sales operations. While at Activ, Hosler developed software that enabled the company to manage EDI compliance in a timely, cost-effective manner. His solution enabled the delivery of large retail orders including Rite Aid, Walgreens and Albertsons. Hosler also co-founded and operated Microganics, where he designed the company’s suite of agricultural products and built a nationwide distribution network for those products.
