Rice United Way Campaign near 40 percent of goal

Board Chair Bobby Tudor offers dollar-for-dollar match

Through six weeks of the 2019 Rice United Way Campaign, pledges and contributions have reached $93,637 — just shy of 40 percent of Rice’s $250,000 goal.

As in previous years, Rice Board of Trustee Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82, an honorary chair of the campaign, is matching every dollar Rice employees contribute to the Rice United Way Campaign above their 2017-18 pledge amounts. To date, Rice employees have claimed $7,871 of the matching funds.

The Rice Management Company is leading the campus with the most funds raised, $13,517. The Office of Public Affairs leads the campus in participation at nearly three-fourths of the division contributing.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2019’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to the benefit of a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, campus donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
